John Vasilik, 85, of Chillicothe, passed away at 5:55pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Heartland of Chillicothe Nursing Home. He was born in Aliquippa, PA on August 20, 1930, to the late Andrew and Suzanna (Valiga) Vasilik. On April 5, 1951, he married Eleanor Eaton, who preceded him in death on July 24, 2011. John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Walter) Bagnall, of Chillicothe; his two grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) Ebert, of DR Congo, Africa, and Alex Bagnall, of Athens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Richard Eaton, of Monck's Corner, SC. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Vasilik, and a sister, Ann Mihalak. John was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as a master sergeant and flight engineer after serving his country for 21 years. After being honorably discharged from the military, he enjoyed working in carpentry and building houses. But most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services.
