John M. Scherff, 58, of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday evening, July 10, 2021 following an extended illness.
He was born September 18, 1962 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of the late Philip and Ann-Marie Scherff.
Surviving are his children, Jenny (Scott) Perdew, Peggie (Casey) Arledge, and Joshua (Kaitlyn) McFadden; grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Cassie, Raylee, Jace, Chloe, Cade, and Ace; as well as special friends Mike and Michelle Croft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancé, Penny Miller Smith, and two uncles, Barry Scherff and David Scherff.
John worked as an attorney in the Chillicothe area for many years before his illness prevented him. He was an avid Grateful Dead fan, and loved going to concerts. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with his friends and going to Wing Night at the Dock.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home from 4:00pm-6:00pm. In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will take place, and private inurnment at Grandview Cemetery will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Ross County Humane Society in his honor.
