John P. Riffle went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025 at the age of 93. He was born in Hamden, OH on June 12, 1931 to the late Friner and Emma (McWilliams) Riffle. He married Patricia (Hayth) Riffle on May 22, 1955 and have just celebrated 70 years together.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Kim Artrip; granddaughter, Tricia (Brent) Dunlap; great-grandson, Dalton Skeens; a Great-great-grandchild on the way; and brother-in-law, George (Marilyn) Hayth. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his Parents; son-in-law, Eddie Artrip; siblings, Thomas Dale Riffle, Norma Jean Angles, Ruth Ester Riffle; and nephews, Tommy II & Tommy III Riffle, and Darrell Angles.
During John's early years he showed his love for sports by playing football and basketball, sports he loved his entire life. After high school he joined the Navy in 1951 and served for 3 years, 7 months and 8 days on the USS Rogers during the Korean War. Upon his return he worked at the Mead as an electrician for 42 years. He was a member of the Local 731. He had a passion for family, dogs, cars, swimming, boating and the Cleveland Browns. After retirement he began woodworking and enjoying time with family.
The family wishes to thank the Bronze Team at the VA, the National Church Residence Hospice Team, and the staff at Westmoreland for the compassion and care shown to John.
The family will receive friends at the Haller Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. John's Funeral Service will be held Friday at 1:00 pm with Arlie Howard officiating followed by Military Honors and burial at Londonderry Cemetery.
