John Nichols

John M. Nichols, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 7:20pm October 15, 2012, at Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born December 16, 1928, in Ross County to the late John Arthur and Ruby Ellison Nichols. On December 8, 1947, he married the former Mildred L. Thompson, who survives. Also surviving is his son John F. Nichols, of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Nathan (Christina) Nichols; Austin (Hannah) Nichols; Bryan (Angela) Mendoza; Jessica (Colin) McDowell; great-grandchildren: Matthew Arthur, Nate Nichols, Jr., Zachery Nichols, Jaxon Mendoza and Rebekah Rose Nichols. He was predeceased by sisters Olga Cook Truman and Jackie Leedom. John was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. He retired from the Mead Paper Co. in 1996 where he worked as a customer service specialist. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 20, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home.
