John W. McGarvey John W. McGarvey, 45, of Chillicothe, died 9:33 am, December 26, 2007, unexpectedly. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Saturday in the Haller Funeral Home, with his cousins, Aric Grooms and Gregory Leeth officiating. Friends may call 5-8 pm Saturday at Haller's. He was born June 30, 1962 in Chillicothe to Richard A. McGarvey and Sheila R. Leeth McGarvey. Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Jerri McGarvey-Garmen; 4 grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Gabriel, Elisabeth, Jonathan, and Lucius; a grandmother, Margaret McGarvey; a sister, Christina McGarvey-Cornell, all of Chillicothe; two brothers, Dean A. McGarvey, of Chillicothe and R. Darren McGarvey and his friend Darrell Bickley, of Dayton; two aunts, including a special aunt, Kathy Jordan, of Chillicothe and Betsy Smith, of Stoutsville; a niece, Wendi Lee McGarvey; many friends including special friends, Juanita Stewart and her sons; George Dills, and Chris Maynard. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Mr. McGarvey was a carpenter, and a member of the local union, an avid NASCAR fan, an Ohio State fan, sprint car fan, and loved motorcycles and his country. Memorial contributions may be made to the Homeland Credit Union for the benefit of his grandchildren.
