John W. Lynch, Jr., 70, of Chillicothe, went home to the Lord at 2:57pm on November 9, 2010, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born October 11, 1940, in Chillicothe, the eldest son of John W., Sr. and Mary Valentine Lynch, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by a brother Donald Lynch and a sister Carol Ann. On October 1, 1988, he married the former Diana Maria Villani, who survives. Also surviving are sons John III and George; a daughter Jewel, from a prior marriage; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister Donna Austin; and brothers Charles (Patricia) Lynch and Larry Lynch. John was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably for 22 years. He retired as Master Sergeant in 1981 and returned to Chillicothe. Shortly after returning, he started working for the state as a correctional officer where he served as union president. He retired from the state in 2003 following 22 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, Janus54 Club, and cruised and travelled the world extensively. He met his wife Diana on one of his many trips to Las Vegas and enjoyed 22 years of blissful matrimony. He attended Quinn Chapel A.M.E., 181 W. Main St., where funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, November 13, with Pastor Acie Collins officiating and Rev. J. Troy Gray Eulogist. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10am until 12pm at the church.
