John Irvine

John Irvine, 99, of Chillicothe, died April 16, 2022, following an extended illness.
He was born April 15, 1923 in Kannapolis, NC, to the late John and Helen Peterson Irvine. On April 7, 1945 he married Mary Ann Irvine, who died June 24, 2017. Survivors include six children, Jack (Leslie), David (Deana) and Robert (Ruth) Irvine, and Catherine (Ted) Deddens; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marc and Thomas Irvine; and two siblings, Albert and Olga Irvine.
Mr. Irvine was a graduate of Rutgers University, an educator, and a World War II veteran.
Military graveside services, conducted by the US Army will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC. Calling hours will not be observed.
