John Highland

John Patrick Highland, 79, of Kettering, formerly of Chillicothe, died 1:06 pm, August 26, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton, following a brief illness. He was born November 17, 1935 in Chillicothe, to the late Walter H. and Charlotte (Bickel) Highland. On June 25, 1966 he married Joann Rinkliff, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Mary Kate and J. Patrick Highland II, both of Kettering. Mr. Highland was a nuclear physicist with The Mound. He was a US Navy veteran and a big Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Michael Hartge, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice program.
