John Heiby

John H. Heiby John H. Heiby, 78, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Chillicothe, died January 29, 2006 surrounded by his family. He was born March 17, 1927 in Marietta, OH to W.H. and Virginia Heiby. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia Sutton, of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Cheryl (Gregory) Sulzer and Deborah Heiby; granddaughters, Colleen Sulzer, Erin Sulzer, and Katherine Jones, all of Phoenix; and a brother, David Heiby, of Columbus. Mr. Heiby was a World War II Navy Seabee Veteran, serving from 1943-45. He was the owner of the Heiby Memorial Home here in Chillicothe from 1957 to 1971. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Marietta; a fifty year member of Scioto Lodge #6 F&AM, all Chillicothe York Rite Bodies, Aladdin Shriners, the Marietta Shrine, the Parkersburg Shrine, a life member of the Royal Order of Jesters #156, Eastern Star # 419, a life member of the BPO Elks #477, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and was a Past Chairman and a Member of the Board of Advantage Bank (formerly Marietta Savings and Loan).
