John L. "Red" Folsom, 72, died at 5:31pm September 10, 2018, at his residence.
He was born January 17, 1946, in Valdosta, GA to the late Cutler and Nellie May (Walker) Folsom.
Surviving are his sons: John C. Folsom, Chillicothe, William W. (Shana) Folsom, Sarasota, FL, and Ryan Folsom, Miami, FL; granddaughters: Summer, Patricia and Amanda; and his longtime companion Carol Haynie, Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Barbara Jones, and a brother Willie George Folsom.
John was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He worked construction as a roofer and was a member of AmVets, Post 4.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm Friday, September 14, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Quitman, GA, at the convenience of the family.
