John Aloysius Albright passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 71.
John Aloysius Albright started his life journey on February 3, 1954, in Chillicothe, the oldest of twins born to Herman L. and Catherine Regina (Reider) Albright. He was named after his grandfathers, whom he didn't have the privilege of knowing.
Several people influenced John and helped develop his work ethic and his desire to give back including his Uncle Glen Albright, who was like a grandfather to him; Glen's sister, Myrtle Albright, who was like a grandmother to him; Kenny Harris, the head of maintenance at Bishop Flaget High School; Bill Brandon, an excellent electrician and friend; Fr. Snoke, principal at Bishop Flaget High School, who helped him start his career at the Portsmouth gaseous diffusion plant; good friend Benney Haller; and above all, his parents, Herman and Regina.
He started at Goodyear Atomic in December of 1972 after passing the entry exam for the Welder's Apprenticeship Program. Over the next 52 years he moved through different maintenance crafts, supervision and management positions, completing his time there in operations management. John officially retired on September 25, 2025.
John is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 15793, the Assistance House board of directors, Burton Stevenson advisory board of directors, and St. Peter Catholic Church. He previously served on the Bishop Flaget School Board, St. Peter's Parish Council, and St. Peter's Finance Committee. He was active with schools through the Fluor BW STEAM Ahead program, with FBW Scholarship committee, and by judging numerous science fairs. John has helped with the maintenance of St. Peter Church since 1990. He continued to help with maintenance and upgrades at Bishop Flaget to include building a STEM room in memory of Father Snoke and was always willing to help friends with maintenance projects.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ann Freygang Albright, whom he married November 27, 1976; his daughters, Terrina Lynn (Gregory) Fahnestock, Chillicothe and Kathryn Marie (Bradley) Edwards, Clarksville, TN.; grandchildren, Nicholas Hunter (Riley Sims), Nathan Gage, and Sadie Ann; siblings, Mary Margaret Albright (late Bernie Lukco), Newark, OH, his twin, Ret. Col. Joseph William (Jane) Albright, Milan, TN and in-laws, Robyn Clohessy and Edward Freygang. John also took great pride in keeping up with his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, John Robert, grandchild, baby Fahnestock, and his parents and grandparents.
