Joanne Barlage

Joanne L. Barlage, 76, of Chillicothe, died at 8:00 am May 30, 2015, at Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. She was born October 2, 1938, in Chillicothe, to the late Willard and Hazel M. (Kaiser) Everhart. On July 25, 1958, she married Martin J. Barlage, who survives. Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law David A. (Denise) Barlage, Chillicothe; daughter and son-in-law Brenda K. (Richard) French, Beaver, OH; her great-granddaughter Mackenzie K. Daniels, which they raised; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Sandra (Richard) Scherer; Janet Kaltenbach; Judith (John) Johnson; and Jayne (James) Herrnstein; a brother and sister-in-law Howard (Barbara) Everhart; a son-in-law Carson McComis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Susan McComis; a son James B. Barlage; brothers: Thomas, Kenneth and Willard "Bud" Everhart; and a brother-in-law Thomas Kaltenbach. Joanne was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1957. She had worked for AVI Food Service, and was an EMT-A with Huntington Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., but primarily she took great pride in being a homemaker. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon Thursday, June 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Huntington Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 10am until 11:45am Thursday at Haller Funeral Home.
