JoAnn F Conrad

JoAnn F. Conrad, 91, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully at 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Adena Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 23, 1935, in Troy, Ohio, to the late Sterling and Elsa Rademachir. On September 1, 1951, she married Clarence E. Conrad, who preceded her in death on November 7, 2006.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Debby (Donnie) Wagner; grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Arnold, Ian (Patty) Conrad, and Jamie Conrad; great-grandchildren, Trey Arnold, Sienna Arnold, Jeremy Conrad, Danika Conrad, Freya Conrad, Luke Conrad, and Hunter Conrad; sister, LeAnn (Pete) Brown; along with several extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Rick Conrad; stepfather, George Veda; brother-in-law, Bill Walker; special brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Nina Conrad; and very dear friend, Tony Simpson.

JoAnn worked for many years as the Office Manager at Hanes Chiropractic before later working at Shoney’s Restaurant, thoroughly enjoying both positions. She loved watching Ohio State football, Cincinnati Reds baseball, and the Game Show Network. She was also an avid bingo player and rarely missed a session with her many friends at Hopeton Village.

To know JoAnn was to love her. Though small in stature, her personality was larger than life.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents of Hopeton Village, where JoAnn resided for many years following Clarence’s passing. The care, friendship, and kindness she received there were extraordinary. We know how much she meant to so many of you, and please know you meant just as much to her. She loved each of you dearly and spoke of you often.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services.

JoAnn will be laid to rest alongside Clarence at Fairview Cemetery in Rockbridge, Ohio, at a later date.
