Joan Mcmillen

Joan R. McMillen, 86, passed from this life on August 3, 2017, at National Church Residences (Traditions), Chillicothe.   She was born on September 8, 1930, near Portsmouth, OH, to the late Ralph and Elsie (Hughes) Brewster, one of four children. Joan graduated from Bainbridge School in 1948. In 1949, she married Kelton Keith Anderson, with whom she had six children. They were married until 1974. She would later marry Earl McMillen.   Joan is survived by her five sons and a daughter: Mike (Phyllis) Anderson, Debbie (John) Anderson, all of Chillicothe; Steve Anderson, Hillsboro, Doug (Mary Ann) Anderson, Peebles, Greg (Kristie) Anderson, Georgetown, KY, and Brad (Angie) Anderson, Bainbridge; a sister Juanita (Kay) Ames, Kingston; two sisters-in-law Yvonne Brewster, Idaho, and Esther Ruth Brewster, Latham; 14 grandchildren: Tyler, Chris, Nathan, Rebecca, Sara, Seth, Zac, Amy, Jay, Lauren, Gavin, Megan, Katie and Hope; 9 great-grandchildren: Kelton, Brady, Breanna, Callie, Cullen, Joshua, Alaynna, Adalee and Lazarus. She was predeceased by her two brothers Sonny and Don Brewster.   Joan felt immense gratitude for her large family and often spoke of how blessed she was to have them. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Joan spent several years as a real estate agent serving Pike and Ross counties. She enjoyed talking and working with the many people she helped. She continued in real estate as long as she was able.   Special gratitude is given to her daughter-in-law Phyllis Anderson who showed care, compassion and love for Joan in all she did for her daily.   Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, August 7, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Matt Brookes officating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8pm at Haller's.
