Jessie G. Neff, 90, of Chillicothe, died Thursday morning, November 8, 2007, in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday at the Chillicothe Baptist Church with Pastor John H. Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home and from 11am-1pm at the church on Saturday. Jessie was born March 27, 1917, in McDowell, KY, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Georgia Mae Hall Stumbo. On March 27, 1937, she married Cecil L. Neff, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1981. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Charles (Sharon) Neff; C. Wayne Neff; Richard (Beverly) Neff; a daughter Peggy Ramsey, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Tim (Margaret) Neff; Teresa (Joe) White; David (Tina) Neff; Todd (Tammy) Neff; Kimberly (Scott) Kershaw; Gwendolyn (John) Weaver; Aaron (Rhonda) Neff; Scott (Peggy) Neff; Tiffany (Greg) Wade; Deron (Gina) Neff; Courtney (Cam) Hale; Ryan (Terah) Ramsey; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Donna Ruth (Fred) George; June Gray, Nancy Basye, Janice (Steve) Wood, and Patti Crites; brother and sister-in-law Bob (Nellie) Stumbo; and 3 sisters-in-law Dena Hill, Eleanor Neff, and Delores "Sis" Stumbo. She was predeceased by sisters Josephine Hardman, Darlene Richendollar, and Hannah Bixler; brothers Fred Stumbo and Greenville Stumbo; a son-in-law Denver Ramsey; and a special friend and traveling companion Mildred Neff. Jessie attended Brookside Church and Chillicothe Baptist Church and was a member of the Mead Retirees Club. To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Jessie was their "number one fan." She supported all of their sports, school and church activities. Jessie enjoyed going to the Paints games and was also an avid Reds and Bengals fan. Jessie loved to travel with her family and often talked about her adventures to Hawaii and various places across the country. Jessie's hobbies included gardening, canning, reading, crocheting, playing card games, mushroom hunting, fishing, and cross-word puzzles.
