Jessie I Mobley, daughter of the late Alfred Tanner and Etta Irene Tanner, was born on January 10, 1953 at Chillicothe Hospital. Jessie was the youngest of five children. Jessie weighed only 4lbs 11oz and was the only one of the children to be born in the hospital. She lived in Chillicothe were she was educated in the Chillicothe City Schools. Jessie was also a Girl Scout. After graduating from Chillicothe High School, she moved to Washington, DC where she was previously employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under J. Edgar Hoover, as a fingerprint technician. While employed at the Bureau, Jessie met her husband of 30 years, Bernard Mobley. Jessie and Bernard were united in marriage on February 2, 1974 here in Chillicothe at the original Zion Baptist Church that was located on Mill Street. They decided to settle down in East Windsor, New Jersey, were they were blessed with two daughters, Alfreda Irene and Anastasia Mychele. While in New Jersey she was employed by General Motors Corporation in the order packing department. She was employed with them for 17 years before the company relocated. She then went to work for Bell Atlantic Mobile which is now Verizon Wireless. She worked in the sales department. Jessie received many awards while being employed with them. Including the President's Cabinet award which is only given to one employee who is tops in their region for sales Jessie and Bernard were both members of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Hightstown. Jessie returned to Chillicothe in 2004 after the loss of her husband. She returned to Zion Baptist Church as well. Her most recent employment was at the Ross County Senior Center. She enjoyed working for and with the seniors of her community. Jessie was a Wonderful and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, playing Monopoly, hosting BBQS, and participating in church activities including catering. Jessie was also a loyal Washington Redskins fan. Jessie went home to meet her Lord and Savior on February 6, 2010 peacefully at home. Jessie was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years Bernard Mobley who she loved deeply. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Vernell LittleJohn. by her brothers Alfred L. Tanner, Columbus, OH She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Alfreda Irene Mobley of Chillicothe and Anastasia Mychele Mobley, of Trenton, NJ; her mother-in-law Marion L. Mobley; father-in-law Russell Mobley Sr, (Geraldine) Jackson,TN; three brothers-in-law; Russell Mobley Jr, Gainsesville, FL, Carl Mobley (Sheila) Somerset, NJ, John Edward Mobley Sr, ( Plainfield); four sisters-in-law Janice B. Brown(John Sr) Hightstown, NJ, Jacqueline L. Thompson (Chuck), Somerset, NJ, Marie Mobley, Gainesville , FL, Carolyn T. Mobley, Somerset, NJ. Special Friends Mary Moore, New Brunswick, NJ, Barbara Thomas, Washington, DC, Tien Ngyun ; family and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday Febuary 13, 2010 at Zion Baptist Church , 84 South Clinton Road, Calling hours are 11-1pm with service at 1pm. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
