Jerry Chaney

Calling Hours: 6-8 pm Friday Funeral:11:00 am Saturday at Haller's Jerry E. Chaney, 71, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord 11:35 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born March 31, 1940 in Chillicothe to John E. and Mary Walker Chaney. On December 31, 1960 he married the former Christine Montgomery, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Selena (Rick) Delozier, of Columbus; two sons, Kevin (Connie) Chaney and David Chaney, of Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Samantha, Brooke, Andrea, Keisha, Colton, Gavin and Isaiah; 2 great-grandchildren, Madison and Braylon; 2 sisters, June Pustelnyk, of Florida and Nancy Coy, of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Chaney.
Mr. Chaney was a member and former Steward of the Ohio Laborers Union. He enjoyed horseback riding, rodeos, auto racing, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He was also an accomplished roller skating performer. The family would like to thank Dr. Alan Shaw and the Adena Regional Medical Center staff for all of the wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Sherman Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Friday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
