Jeffrey River

Jeffrey S. River, 36, of Chillicothe, died at 2:01pm Friday, August 26, 2011, at the Ohio State University Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born July 9, 1975, in Columbus, OH, to Charles E. and Lisa L. (Baucus) River. Surviving are his daughter, Emily River, of Seattle, WA; his mother Lisa River, Chillicothe; the mother of his daughter, Cherie River, Seattle, WA; brother Jon River; sisters Katy River; and Alyson (Peter) Ziskowski; his step-mother, Susie Burke, of Chillicothe; his aunts Leslie Wikle, Rachel Bell and Joanna River and her husband Richard Oestreich; and his uncles James D. River and Fred (Krista) River. He was predeceased by his father, Chuck River; his uncle William E. River; his aunt Jacquelyn Baucus; his maternal grandparents Clarice and James Baucus; and his paternal grandparents James E. "Ernie" and Jean C. River. Jeff was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1993. He served his country in the US Marine Corps and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, August 29, at the First Christian Church, 268 W. Water St., with Pastors Julia and Alan Cory officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until 2pm at the church.
