Jeffrey "Red Dog" L. Rebman, 63, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 26, 2018, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born on April 27, 1954, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Clarence J. and Louise (Caldwell) Rebman. Surviving is his sister, Sherry Lou (William) Tyler; two nephews, William H. Tyler, Jr., and David (Jackie) Rebman; two nieces, Kristin C. (Rod) Morrison, and Crystal (Darrell) Puckett, all of Chillicothe; several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as his best friend, Randy Woehler, of Kingston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Allen Rebman. Jeff was a graduate of Unioto High School, and upon his graduation he joined the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the military, he came back to Chillicothe and worked for Alcoa Aluminum for 17 years before they closed their doors. He went on to work for the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in the nutrition services department before finally retiring in June 2016. He was a life time member of the VFW Post 108 and a member of the AMVETS Post 104. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. A military graveside service conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Soldier Square. Friends may join the family for a visitation on Tuesday May 1, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Veterans Charity of the donor's choice.
