Jeanette Gragg, a cherished resident of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on Saturday, August 12, 1939, in Clinton County, Ohio, Jeanette was a beacon of love and kindness whose presence touched everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Buckskin High School's class of 1957, Jeanette embarked on a journey that saw her wear many hats. She diligently worked at a shoe factory and later became a skilled barber, a visionary business owner and ran the Main Street Auction. She married Donald E. Gragg on April 13, 1957, Jeanette and Don's marriage was the epitome of a fairytale love story, gracing their 67 years together with unwavering devotion and joy.
Jeanette's life was imbued with a heartwarming generosity, always known for her open house and the welcoming aroma of food, offering both sustenance and solace to family and friends. She was a formidable pillar of strength and warmth in her community, admired for her ever-caring spirit.
She is survived by her loving children: son, Brian Scott (Tracy) Gragg, and daughters, Sandra (Bret) Sharp and Shelly Gragg (Kyle Duff). She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike Palmer, Kathy (Mack) Steinbrook, and Jonda (Mike) Whitt.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald E. Gragg (August 3, 1937 - July 16, 2023), her cherished children, Stephanie Gragg (November 7, 1958 - July 9, 1994) and Steven Gragg (October 10-1960 - December 25, 2008), her parents Walter and Mary Jo Palmer, and her siblings Fred Palmer, Danny Palmer, Roy Palmer, Juanita, Charlee, Lucille, and Ruthann.
Jeanette's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion serves as an eternal testament to her beautiful soul. Her family takes solace in the memories of her open-hearted nature, the life lessons she imparted with grace and generosity, her wonderful life, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her loved ones.
