Jay Tackett

Jay Tackett, 85, of Frankfort, passed away on November 18, 2024. Jay was a remarkable man with a strong work ethic, a kind heart, and a love for life that left a lasting impact on those around him.

Jay found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He was an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball, rarely missing a game and cheering passionately for his team. Jay also built a successful ink ribbon business, which was a testament to his hard work and dedication.

His kindness, wisdom, and humor made him an unforgettable presence in the lives of family and friends.

Jay is survived by his wife, Charlene; his son, Preston Tackett (Megan); his daughters, Kim Hughes (Guy) and Gina Reed; grandchildren, Tyler, Elisha, Sara, and Amy; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David Tackett; his parents, Jones B. Tackett and Nora Tackett; and his brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service for Jay will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tom Pairan officiating, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.  The family will be receiving from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
