Jay Shoemaker

Jay D. Shoemaker, 56, of Chillicothe, died 8:15 am, Thursday, October 13, 2011, at his home, following a battle with cancer. He was born November 1, 1954 in Ross Co. to the late Leroy and Mary Lloyd Shoemaker. On August 7, 1986 he married the former Peggy A. Jordan, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Colton Shoemaker, of Athens and Jansen (Denise) Litter, of Cincinnati; a grandchild, Audrey Litter; a sister, Kay (Tom) Binns, of Chillicothe; three brothers, Tom (Dee), Rex (Barb), and Max (Judy) Shoemaker, all of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. Jay worked construction and enjoyed woodworking and Native American history. A celebration of his life will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Ebush Campground. Family and friends may call 1-4 pm Sunday, October 16, at the Haller Funeral Home.
