Jay Bales

Jay Douglas "J.D." Bales, 47, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 3:20pm Monday November 5, 2007, at Adena Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, November 9, at Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday from 11am until 1pm at Haller Funeral Home. Jay was born November 16, 1959, in Chillicothe to Robert G. and June E. (Henry) Bales, Jr. He was a graduate of Unioto High School, Class of 1979. He then served in the US Army from 1981 until 1983. Surviving are his daughter, Ashley Scaggs; his mother, June E. Bales; his brother and sister-in-law Jeffrey (Karla) Bales; and nieces Victoria and Alexandria Bales, all of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his father and a brother Chris Bales. Jay worked with his brother as a brick and concrete mason with Bales Masonry. He also was an artist.
