Janice L. Carl

Janice L. Carl, 83, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Traditions, following an extended illness.

She was born February 12, 1943, in Augusta, Georgia, daughter of the late Lloyd and Alice Hayton. She went on to marry Marvin W. Grubb, who preceded her in death in 2017.

Surviving are her children, Lisa Marie (Grubb) Cardinale, Jeffrey Allen Grubb, Marvin Scott Grubb, and Shawn Everett (Sally) Grubb; granddaughters, Shania Grubb, Hope Farabee, and Holly Bixler; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Addison, and Josie; and her nieces, Connie, Peggy, and Vicky. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Audrey Johnson and Bertha Cline.

Janice worked for the health department for more than 25 years and retired in 2001. She then went back to work at the health department for the cancer project for an additional 5 years. She enjoyed attending services for the Jefferson Avenue CCCU when her health allowed. She was a true fashionista of her time and always had an adoring cat.

In accordance with her wishes, private graveside services will be held at Twin Township Cemetery.
