Janet M. Dalrymple, 86, of Chillicothe, died 10:48 am, December 20, 2023, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born April 24, 1937 in Chillicothe to the late Edward H. and Olive Claytor Edler Jr. She married Robert Dalrymple, who preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Karen Smalley, Joyce (Patty Hart) Werner, and Linda (Gary Penwell) Werner; 3 step-children, Jody (Rob) Kramer, Debra (Steven) Ashcraft and Teresa Oyer; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Sanford (Jenny) Edler, Jack (Karen) Edler, and Cindy Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Glenda Leedy and Clarence "Ted" Edler; and a son-in-law, Steve Smalley.
Janet's passion was reading, and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church.
Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Cancer Fund, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
