Janet A. Younge, January 24, 1956 – November 26, 2024.
Jan, thank you for noticing me one day and asking a mutual friend for my phone number, calling me for our first date in 1976 picking apples in an orchard. Who can say that for a first date? Thank you for saying, "Yes" and then "I do" on June 9, 1979; in an outside wedding at Fairlane Masion Gardens with a temperature of 101 degrees. Thank you for moving to Chillicothe, OH, so that we could both start our teaching careers and retire from the Chillicothe City Schools; where we would raise our 2 children, Ryan and Lindsay, and make a home. And where we would welcome our granddaughter Aleda. Thank you for all your laughter and wit, your poetry, our shared adventures throughout the world, your friendship and intimacy, and all your love! Love, Tom.
Those who are waiting for Jan with open arms: grandparents Burton and Janet, parents John and Janet, brother John, and in-law parents Carlton and Lora.
She will be sadly missed by: husband Tom, son Ryan, daughter Lindsay and Jason, granddaughter Aleda, sister Jennifer and Pete, brother Jeff and Diane, in-law Kathy, in-law Mark and Debbie, in-law Margaret and Ken, in-law Dave and Lynn, and nieces and nephews.
Much appreciation to all of those who helped us through our journey: National Church Residences Hospice: Amanda, Shelley and Aaron; everyone at Alzheimer's Support Group including Shannon, Pam, Bill, Dee, Fran, Mary, Julie, Marjorie, Lori, Phyliss, Jerry, Rebecca, Linda; and a special thank you to sitter and friend Cindy and close friend DebbieKoss.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If you wish to honor Jan, please make a donation to Compassion International; or National Church Residences Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
