James A. Turner, 74, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 1:30pm November 18, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born January 28, 1935, in Portsmouth, OH, to the late James A. and Adella White Turner. On April 4, 1955, he married the former Marian Elizabeth Wingo, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Tina (Bill) Thomas; Angela (Myron) Miller; sons and daughters-in-law Don "Rick" (Virginia) Turner; James "Jim" Turner; Angelo "Chico" Turner; and Shawn (Kyra) Turner, all of Chillicothe; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many good friends. He was predeceased by his son Byron "Tony" Turner. Mr. Turner retired from CHILPACO. He attended the Glorious Church of God in Christ and Christian Life Tabernacle. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and belonged to the NRA. He was also an automobile enthusiast. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, November 23, at the Haller Funeral Home with Bishop Melvin Maughmer and Pastor Phillip Rutherford officiating.
