James Scott

James E. Scott, 78, of Chillicothe, died 11:00 am, Thursday, January 21, 2010, in the Valley View Care Center, following a brief illness. He was born February 13, 1931 in Vinton Co. to Chauncy and Melba Glandon Scott. On July 3, 1954 he married Lenore Ann Scott, who died July 11, 2009. Survivors include his children, Diana L. (Kirk) Patrick, of Orient, OH and Mark E. (Jodi) Scott, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Evan B. and Taylor E. Scott; a sister, Ann (Don) Barrow, of Chillicothe; and brothers, Edsel (Patty) Scott and Donald (Susan) Scott, both of Richmond Dale. Mr. Scott retired from Mead Paper, served in the Air National Guard, and was a member of the Chillicothe Evening Lions Club. He was a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Chillicothe Jaycees and was a JCI Senator. He also served on the Ross Co. and the Ohio State Boards of Education. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Monday at Haller's, where a Lions Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Eye Bank.
