James L. "Jim" Schobelock, Jr., 78, of Chillicothe, died at 7:41pm, June 25, 2021, at his residence. He was born August 15, 1942, in Chillicothe, to the late James L., Sr. and Cora E. (Diehl) Schobelock. On March 15, 1961, he married the former Donna R. Smith, who together enjoyed 60 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 sons: Brian, Blake (friend Michelle), Blaine, Sr. (Pamela), and Brent (Anna Marie) Schobelock; grandchildren: Brian Craig, Amanda (Chris), Blaine, Jr. (Jerrica), Jimmy (Kaylee), Melissa (Josh), Jordan (Bree), Ryan (Michelle), Cheyenne (Dom), Levi (Kimberly), Thomas, Morgan, Corey and Samantha; great-grandchildren: Brian M., Aaron, Lillian, Alexis, Jada, Makayla, Alayleigh, Blaine III, Landon, Bristol, Paisley, Colt, Hayley, Xavier, Jaxon, Bransyn, Brayzyn, Cole, Vincent, Henry, Kyrie, Liam, Olivia and Novianna; siblings Pat Elliott, Karen Darby, Randy (Vicki) Schobelock, Jennifer (Mike) Hines, Judy (Bob) Harmon, and Pam (Marvin) Coppock. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Rhonda Schobelock; siblings Jack, Richard and Clifford Schobelock; maternal grandparents Art and Mabel Diehl; and paternal grandparents Joseph and Bessie Schobelock. Jim attended Paint Valley High School and received his diploma from the American Correspondence School. He worked at JC Penney's, Big Bear, First United Methodist Church and retired from CHILPACO. He enjoyed fishing and camping and served as a scout leader at First UMC. He was a member of the Pike Co. CB Radio Club, handle "Nightwalker." He served his country in the US Air Force. He'll be remembered as a good story teller, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 29, at the First UMC, 585 E. Main St., with his nephews Pastors Greg Elliott and Aaron Hines officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10am until 1pm.
