James Schauseil

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of James D. Schauseil due to a very aggressive bladder cancer. He was the loving husband of Chloe M. LeMaster Schauseil, whom he married January 18, 1975.   Jim was born in Waverly, OH on November 17, 1936 to William H. and Martha Hickman Schauseil. His marriage to Chloe resulted in two children, Gina Schauseil (Randy) Seel , of Chillicothe and Stephen James (Deanne) Schauseil, of Canal Winchester; and a daughter from a previous marriage, Elizabeth Eblin, who resides in Waverly, OH. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, Ellie DePoy (age 9) and Olivia Schauseil (age 8) as well as a sister, Patty (Ralph) Strickland, nephew David (Jennifer) Strickland; uncle Jackie Hickman; and brother-in-law, Darryl (Frankie) LeMaster. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, Stephanie Bevens, a grandson, David Eblin, and numerous aunts and uncles.   Jim attended OSU and was an avid Buckeye fan. He enjoyed golf and bowling in his younger days and was a member of the 1954 Waverly Tigers State Championship Baseball Team. Jim owned and operated Jim's Music Land in Chillicothe for many years before becoming a rural mail carrier in the Circleville area, until he retired in 2004.   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Elder Darryl LeMaster officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call 5-8:00 pm Tuesday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Hospital at OSU to benefit cancer research.
