He was born on November 8, 1967 in Chillicothe, son of John Richard Riehle. He married his beloved wife, Melissa (Butterbaugh) Riehle in 2000.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Destiny (Aaron) Varble, Audreanna (Nick) Spurlock, Miranda (Bre) Cook, Hannah Riehle, Jordan Cook, and James "Jimmy" Richard (Grace) Riehle, Jr.; grandchildren, Madeline Riehle, Bailey Massie, Aribella Riehle, Remy Hill, Jaxyn Stalnaker, Asher Spurlock, Natalie Honaker, and Taylee Honaker; numerous close friends including the McCrady family; as well as many other extended family members. Jim was a graduate of Huntington High School and Pickaway-Ross, class of 1987. Upon his graduation, he went on to work at Mile-McClellan Construction Company in Columbus, where he has been employed for the last 34 years. In his free time, he loved being outdoors going squirrel hunting with his best friend, Master Dewey. In fact, he loved squirrel hunting to much that he created a squirrel playground in the backyard so his dogs could watch them throughout the day. He and his family loved taking trips down to the Smoky Mountains several times a year to spend time together. He was a founding member of the Paint Valley Squirrel Hunters Association and enjoyed being involved in his children's sporting events at Huntington High School. Jim was also a long-time member of the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service.
