James V. Mitchell, 64, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
James was born August 24, 1958 in Chillicothe, the son of Beryl and Helen Wolfe Mitchell. He was a 1976 graduate of Huntington High School. He worked at YSK for over 30 years. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 600, Sons of the American Legion, the AMVETS and VFW. He was united in marriage to Beverly Dotson on December 26, 1996.
He is survived by one daughter, Jamie McElivee; a son, B.J. Mitchell, 2 step-daughters, Kelly Smith and Betty Sue Wipert; a step-son, Norman Mitchell; 3 sisters, Donna Ward, Leora Matthews, and Connie Matthews; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Amy Sabo. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; an infant sister, Jane Marie; and a special friend, Ted Leath.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Wednesday at Haller's.
