James Manson

April 19, 1956 — February 1, 2022

James C. Manson, 65, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly February 1, 2022 at the Ohio State University Hospitals.

He was born April 19, 1956 in Ross Co.  to the late James C. "Sonny"  and Katherine M. Freeman Manson.  On January 26, 2018 he married his long time companion Cynthia A. Harris, who survives.  Also surviving are four children, Jeremy (Lauren) Harris, Hilliard, Tiffany (Jay) Manson, Saraa Manson, and Tara Barrows, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Allison, and Jerin Harris, Haydon, Rylan, and Kirsten Campos, Kaydon Ashten, and Betty Bowling, and McKenzie, Morgen, and Macie Barrows; a great-grandchild, Ryliq Campos;a sister, Beth Steinbrook, of Chillicothe; and a brother-in-law, David (Tami) Harris, of Scottsdale, AZ; and a niece, Jhera (Bryan Kelly) Harris.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Manson.

Jim was a very loving husband and father.  He was loved by all that knew him.  He was the life of family gatherings, always putting smiles on the faces of those around him with his quick-witted sense of humor.  He loved cooking and spending time with his family, especially chasing the younger grandchildren around the house making them laugh.  He was notorious for picking out wonderful vacations to take with his wife, that was thoroughly enjoyed.  He always booked in advance to have one to look forward to and talk about.  Summer was his favorite season, with gardening and grilling and spending ample time hanging out around the pool, playing volleyball and working on his tan.

He started karate as a young teenager and spent most of his time at the Dojo.  He helped train students for years and continued to compete in tournaments until he was 50.  He was proud when he received his 6 th degree black belt.  He enjoyed his job, traveling and training, and believed his work may help save a life. Special friends Bob and Shylea were part of his family at the Jacman Group.  Jim's specialty was taking care of others, especially his mother and father-in-law Hobart and Martha Harris.  Always there, lending a hand or just to visit.  He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.

Following cremation, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Our love ones are a gift to us.  After they have gone, we remember, and we celebrate the life they lived, the love they share, and the difference they made in our lives.
