James Lee Giles died in Columbus, Ohio on February 1, 2016 at the OSU Medical Center, after a prolonged illness. He was born August 31, 1939 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Helen (Cooper, Giles) Mosley and Lee Giles. He was predeceased by his grandparents, parents, brother Anthony Giles (New York City) and devoted Aunt Mabel (Cooper) Morton. He is survived by two sisters Carol J. Giles Liggins (Chillicothe) and Lois J. Giles Maughmer (Columbus), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend Rob Berger (Washington D. C.) After graduation from Chillicothe High School, James lived between New York (4 of the 5 boroughs) and Ohio for many years and retired from Education Alliance, Inc. (Manhattan, N.Y.C). He graduated from the Ohio State University with three Bachelor degrees, one of which was in Journalism. He wrote for the OSU student Lantern as an undergrad. After graduation, he wrote for the Columbus Call and Post and worked part-time for the King Cultural Center. He wrote a trilogy of books which were published in his pen name J. Lee Cooper- Giles and are still in print. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, OH at 2:00 February 13, 2016. R.I.P Brother.
