James Easton

May 18, 1942 — April 27, 2025

James A. Easton, 82, of Chillicothe passed away on April 27, 2025, at Adena Regional Medical Center.



Born on May 18, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the youngest child of Fred and Alice (Ford) Easton. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Gene, and sister Sandy. On September 5, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Jane (Crothers) Easton, who survives.



Also surviving are their children, Susan (Jeff) Ginter of Cold Spring, KY, Greg (Beth) Easton and Jen (Dennis) Cockerill, both of Hilliard, OH; grandchildren: Jacob, Dylan, Lauren, Sydney, Maddy, Leslie, Ashley and Zoey.



Jim graduated from Marysville High School in 1960 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Ohio State University in 1964. He joined the Army in 1965 and served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War.



Jim and Jane moved to Chillicothe in 1970. He worked for Columbus Equipment Company as a salesman, and remained with them until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hiking, biking, woodworking and traveling with his wife and friends.



There will be a Celebration of Life on June 7, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Haller Funeral Home. In Jim's honor, memorial contributions can be made to: Adena Health Foundation-Cancer Fund, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601; or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org
