James W. Dumm James W. Dumm, 63, of Chillicothe, died 5:38 am, Monday, September 18, 2006 in his home, surrounded by family. He was born December 14, 1942 in Chillicothe to Winfred "Bud" and Grace W. Dumm. On September 8, 1974 he married his beloved wife, Shirley Mayhew Dumm, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Nicolas J. (Tabby) Dumm and Rob (Liz) Grooms, both of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Hayley and Alex; a brother Robert (Debbie) Dumm; a sister, Martha (Kenneth) Temple, all of Laurelville; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Norma Mayhew, of Greenfield; an aunt, Mrs. Jean West, of Laurelville; a special cousin, Carol (Ralph) Casto, of Galloway; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, William "Ed" Mayhew, and his uncle Robert E. West. Mr. Dumm graduated from Laurelville High School in 1960 and Mayo State in 1963 in Industrial Electronics. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. He was a professional photographer for 27 years. He began his career in Mt. Clemens, MI and moved to Chillicothe in 1974, becoming the owner/operator of Dumm's Studio. He was active in the Professional Photographers of America, Ohio and Central Ohio groups. Jim retired in 1997. He loved photographing young people, and especially enjoyed weddings and working with the local high schools. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran's Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at Haller's.
