James "Jim" D. Decker, 73, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Signature Healthcare in Chillicothe, following a brief illness.
He was born August 10, 1946 in Byesville, Ohio to the late Rexford and Margaret Decker. On May 28, 1994 he married Nancy (Smith) Decker who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Brian (Diamond) Wolken, Kelly (Steve) Zina, and Sherry Decker; his step-children, Russell (Chasity) Archer, and Randall (Charlena) Archer; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Barb and Linda Decker; extended family members and friends; Jeff, Susan, Zach, Chester & Ernie Smith; Shane & Clarice Decker, Wayne Bennett, Dick (Jane) Vulgamore, Rodney Vulgamore, Steve Hill, David Gray, Bill Jones, Little Davey, Joanne and LB Herman, John and Tammy Little, Carl and Lillie Myers, Bink, Rosetta and Donnie, Carla Myers, Mary Ann Kelly, Bobby and Tracy Crabtree, Becky Guysinger, Larry Brumbach, Kim Myers, Harry Hartman, Joscelyn & Jeff Wood, Cindy & Keith Swepston, Gary Hassey, Nick Knisley, Patty Dearth, Patty Martindale, Patty Arthur, Cathy at the first stop in Bainbridge, Chestine & Matt Walk, Chris & Ray Williams, Nate Gray and family, Mel & Sunny Davis, Hunter and Cody, Cathy Fink, Bonnie Davis, Steve Silcott, Eric Steinbrook, Terry Allen and wife; his golfing buddies, and all the people who cared at LB Camping; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Ron Decker, and a sister-in-law, Rosie.
Jim was a retired US Army veteran who served for over 20 years. He went on to work at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center and retired after 18 years of employment. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, and watching OSU Football.
A military graveside service will be held at Twin Township Cemetery and announced at a future date.
