James Davis

James E. Davis James E. Davis, 85, of Chillicothe, died 10:30 am, Thursday, June 30, in Edgewood Manor of Greenfield, following an extended illness. He was born March 15, 1920 in Twin Township to Edward J. and Inez Taylor Davis. On July 3, 1982 he married Dolly J. Combs, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Debra Wingo, of Los Angeles, CA, Pamela (Harold) Elliott and James E. Davis Jr., both of Columbus, OH, and James D. Davis, of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 step-children, Bobby, Eugene, and Ricky Kellough and Candy Bodnar, all of Chillicothe, and Billy Kellough, of Spring, TX; 3 sisters, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Raney, Mrs. David (Muriel) Raney and Mrs. Virginia Richardson, all of Chillicothe; a brother Karl F. (Mary) Davis, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Mrs. William (Helen) Harrington. Mr. Davis retired from the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, as a nursing assistant in 1974. He was a World War II Army veteran. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday in the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.
