James Davis

James R. Davis, 81, of Chillicothe, died at 4:20pm December 15, 2012, at Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born January 13, 1931, in Chillicothe, to the late Ralph and Dovey (Large) Davis. On April 11, 1951, he married the former Patricia M. Britton, who preceded him in death on October 1, 2007. He is survived by his children: Carla (Rick) Ross, Mark (Laura) Davis, Myra (David) Cryder, Curt (Lisa) Davis, Beth (David) Carter, Jan (Ben) Wilson; his grandchildren: Jaymie (Brad) Wood; Kristen (Corey) Gillen; Justin and Seth McClure, Dyllon Cryder; Brick Davis; Hunter Hightower; Weston, Brooke, Afton and Aubri Davis; Khalie, Taylor and Davis Carter; and Jimmy Wilson; his great-grandchildren, Carly and Brady Wood; and Hayli McClure; and a sister Marilyn Jo Magill. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sister. Jim was a member of the Yellowbud United Methodist Church. He worked most of his life as a farmer and also helped his son with construction. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim's passion was his family. He loved to go to his grandkids ballgames, enjoyed mowing with Mark and working in the garden. He was also known for his wonderful desserts that he would bake. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, December 19, at Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Carol Davis officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Springbank Cemetery.
