James Kurt Cutright, 64, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away on March 8, 2025, surrounded by immense love. He was born on October 16, 1960, in Chillicothe to James and Mary Cutright.
Jim was known for his generous heart, always putting others before himself. As a husband, father, attorney, and friend, he dedicated himself to serving the Chillicothe community in countless ways. Throughout his life he made many wonderful connections. Kyle Allen, Mark Crosier, John McCambridge, John Baylor, and Lana McGrath, were all very, very dear to him. He loved them deeply and was beyond blessed to have them in his life. Kyle Allen was with Jim all the way to the end and was an essential presence of love and strength for Jim's family. Kathryn was the love of Jim's life and throughout their marriage they raised 4 brilliant children. She was his light, his love, his best friend, and nothing could ever dilute the love these two shared. Their connection is eternal.
He will be remembered for his wit, compassion, and dedication to others. Jim's passions outside of his family were historical literature and aviation. Above all, he was a devoted father who cherished time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Burdette Cutright; his sons: Tanner Warren Cutright, Hayden McPherson Cutright, and Mercer Burdette Cutright; his daughter: Carden Alexius Cutright; and his mother-in-law Fran Burdette, all of whom will forever hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Cutright.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm Thursday, March 13, at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 E. Main St., Chillicothe, with Fr. Michael Ralph officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
