James E. Counts, 60, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at his business. He was born October 11, 1951, in Ross Co. to the late Phyllis Jean (Magill) Counts. On November 4, 1978, he married the former Cheryl Bethel, who survives. Also surviving are his sister Cherie (James Davis) French, of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law Shirley (Kermit) Vickers; his mother-in-law Rosemary Bethel, of Chillicothe; nephews Adam (Beth) French; Aaron (Carrie) Olney; Adam (Rhianna) Olney; great-nieces and great-nephews Morgan, Riley and Aidan Olney; Emma and Logan French; and his close friend Bob French. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Richard Bethel. Jim was president and manager of Bethel home Improvement Co., President of the Ross County Golf Association, and a proud member of the Western Alliance. Jim also served in the Ohio National Guard. He was an avid golfer and will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Saturday, October 29, at the Haller Funeral Home with John Nunley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
