James E. Collier, 75, of the Villages, FL; formerly of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at his home in Florida on Friday, July 23, 2010. He was born November 20, 1934, in Columbus, OH, and is survived by his wife, Pamela Collier. Also surviving are his son by Mary Jane Collier, Alex (Tanya) Collier, of Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Donna Collier, of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Amberdawn Collier, Thursday St. Giles, James Craig Collier II, Porter Collier, and Hyla Collier; one great grandchild, Dante Brooks; three sisters, Mary Ellen Wilkinson of St. Petersburg, FL; Sharon Crawford and Shirley Cox, both of Columbus; and one brother, Bill Collier, of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, J. Craig Collier, and his sister, Phyllis Anderson. Jim was the owner of Cardinal Carpet and Chillicothe Furniture. He was a resident of Chillicothe for over thirty years. Jim's kind heart and willingness to help friend and stranger alike will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Haller Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Terry officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to contribute to The Salvation Army, 171 W. Fourth St., Chillicothe; or a charity of their choice. "There is no death. The Son of God is free."
