James L. Carroll, 69, of Londonderry, died at 7:40am June 28, 2025, at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 10, 1956, in Chillicothe, to the late Woodrow E. and Bernice E. (Park) Carroll. On August 21, 2004, he married the former Jeanette Spetnagel, who survives.
Also surviving are his children: Laurel (Cody) Schwalbauch, James (Tina) Carroll, Nikkita (Ken) Clancy, Amanda (Jonathan) Schob, Michael (Cheyanne) Carroll, Krista (Jesse) Calton, and Sammy (Brad) Fisher; grandchildren: Skyla, Xavier, Butch, Tiffany, Corey, Kris, Ella, Joey, Vera, Emerson, Alana, Alex, MacKenzie, Jesse, Steven, Aeryn and Devin; 11 great-grandkids; and siblings: Loretta Detty, Rosie (Dave) Cade, Katie (Don) Leist, John McComas, Woody Carroll, Ron (Tina) Carroll, and Dave (Amanda) Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Sharon McComas and Vickie Davis.
Jim honorably served his country in the US Air Force from 1974-1977. He worked over 40 years as a roofer. He was well-loved and will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and for his green thumb in his flower gardens. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 757, VFW, Post 108 and the Moose Lodge 1626. He was a big Ohio State fan and enjoyed playing pool.
Military Honors, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be given at 3pm Thursday, July 3, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Thursday at the funeral home.
