James Edward Bridenbaugh, Sr., 87, of Chillicothe, passed away early Friday morning, September 20, 2019 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born August 15, 1932 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Minney) Bridenbaugh.
Surviving are his two children, Jim (Alysia) Bridenbaugh, Jr., and Janna (Bob) Sturges, both of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Bridenbaugh, Jessi Bridenbaugh, Alex Bridenbaugh, and R.J. Sturges, all of Chillicothe; five great-grandchildren, Trinity, Jamie, Monroe, Paisley Mae, and Declan, all of Chillicothe; one brother, Jacob (Rachael) Bridenbaugh; of Chillicothe; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lilian Cozad.
James was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving from October 1952 until June 1955. He went on to work as a truck driver for Pre-Fab Transit trucking company for many years before finally retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the AMVETS Post 4 in Chillicothe.
A military graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery will be announced at a future date. There will be no public calling hours.
