James Wendell Branson, Jr., 74, of Chillicothe, passed on to be with his Lord Jesus, 10:58 pm, Monday, November 8, 2010, after a long struggle with cancer. He was born August 20, 1936 in New Richmond, Brown Co., OH to June and the late James W. Branson, Sr. He was also preceded in death by nieces, Cherys and Cheryl Little. He is survived by his wife, Janet Wood Branson; three sons, Troy (Kim), Travis (Kelley), and Trent (Becci) Branson; ten grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth and nephew Brent Little. He spent his youth performing in each of the 48 states and Canada with the Boy Choir School. He was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, since 1992, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church for the twenty years prior. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, Commercial Point, OH. He was saved at the United Methodist Church in Commercial Point, OH in 1966. He used his musical ability in each of these churches—a great joy in his life. He worked as an assistant vice-president of Ohio State Bank and was later a self employed fuel oil distributor. He loved bus driving for the Chillicothe Senior Center for 12 years. He served six years in the Ohio National Guard. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2486 Anderson Station Rd., Chillicothe, with Pastors Michael Montgomery and Donald Meece officiating. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in Concord Cemetery, Grove City. Friends may call 5-8 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home, and 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
