Jack D. Tweed, 52, of Ashville, went to be with the Lord at 2:55am Friday, January 1, 2010, at Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born February 9, 1957, in Chillicothe, to the late Robert V. and Dorthy Sheperd Tweed. On October 14, 2006, he married the former Tabitha J. Bowling, who survives. Also surviving are his step-children Zachary Bowling, Circleville; Patrick McConahay, California; Britanny McConahay, Circleville; father-in-law and mother-in-law Burl and Sharon Bowling, Circleville; several step-grandchildren; special friends Tim Merritt, Bill Bonner, Jimmy Stevens and Jerry Hall; many nieces, nephews and an amazing host of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers: Robert, Jr., Gary and Jim Tweed. Jack was a gentle and kind man. He retired from S.O.C.I. in Lucasville, where he worked as a Guard. He was a member of the AMVETS, Post 58, Waverly. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 6, at the Haller Funeral with his brother-in-law, Roy Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at Haller Funeral Home.
