October 5, 1952-May 5, 2024

Jack, affectionately known as Jr. , to most, was born to Jack, Sr. and Karen (McLurg) Lunsford, in Chillicothe , Ohio. Jack passed away, after a brief illness, at home, surrounded by family and his special girl , Peggy Shoemaker.

After graduating from Chillicothe High School , Jr. married Patricia (Patty) Shope. Together, they had two children, Gayle and Brian (Gus) Lunsford. Patty , unfortunately, passed in 2000. Jr. cherished working with his father in the sheet metal/ HVAC industry for many years. He was then fortunate enough to carry on this tradition by working side by side with his son, Gus, for many more years.

Jr. developed a love of mushroom hunting, from his parents, which he passed on to his children. He was known as "Big E ye ," Gus was " Little Eye," and Gayle was "No Eye. "

He was also a big Ohio State Buckeye fan, as well as a Cleveland Browns fan. While he was fortunate to have seen OS U win a few National Titles , unfortunately his Brownies never gave him a Super Bowl victory.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters , Pamela Lunsford and Jillian Lunsford. He is surviv e d by his children , Gayle Lunsford and Brian (Laurel L ong) Lunsford , and grandson , Augustus Lunsford. He is also survived by siblings Sheila (Bill) Crum , Cindy (Jack) Hicks, David Lunsford, T eresa (Alan) Seward, Scott L unsford , and Ted (Debbie Allen) L unsford. Along with numerous nieces, and nephews , all will miss him dearl y, as will his friends at Ta y lor's Stag Bar (now Taylor Brothers Saloon ) .

Calling hours will by Thursday , May 9 , 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home. A Short Remembrance will follow at 6:00pm.
