James Gabriel "Gabe" Roush IV, 23, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away tragically in Circleville, Ohio, on his birthday, August 7, 2025, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Born on August 7, 2002, in Chillicothe, Gabe was the beloved son of Aimee Ackley and James Shelby Roush III.
He is survived by his parents, Aimee (Hal Beatty) and James (Holly); his sisters, Brianna Roush, Dayton, Shalynn Roush, Chillicothe, Amaris (Zeke) Schobelock, Chillicothe, and Makenna Smith, Waverly; step-siblings Halee Beatty, Malachi Beatty, Hal Beatty III, Erika Nichols, Emily Nichols, Christopher Nichols; maternal grandparents Susan Ackley, Chillicothe and Anthony Ackley, Beavercreek; paternal grandparents Pamela Clemmons, Chillicothe and James Roush II, Frankfort.; uncles Philip Ackley, Nicholas Ackley, Douglas Roush, and aunt Amber Roush; his cherished nephews Landyn Lee, Hunter Young, and Symere Lovejoy. Gabe had so many friends that he considered family including Collin Jones, Ryan Ramsey, Alex Gee, Madison George, Richard Brummett, and the Warren brothers.
Gabe was predeceased by his nephew Leightyn Lee; best friends CJ and Bryce Jones; and his faithful dog "Oscar."
Gabe attended Chillicothe High School and recently began working for Vest Towing, which he loved. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, kayaking, and especially spending time with family, friends and his dogs Caesar and Graham.
Gabe will be remembered for the light he brought to those around him and the love he shared with his family and friends. His life, though far too short, left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Gabe was an extremely loyal friend and if he loved you, he loved you with his whole heart.
His funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, August 14, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm at the funeral home.
