Jean L. "Ike" Neiberline, 89, of Chillicothe, died at 4:10am January 21, 2014, at the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Georgetown, OH. He was born April 28, 1924, in Lockbourne, OH, to the late William L. and Annie L. (Calvert) Neiberline. On February 2, 1952, he married Helen I. Pence, who preceded him in death on October 26, 1998. Later, he married the former Margaret "Maggie" Huffer on April 20, 2002, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Doris Neiberline; grandchildren Troy and Kari; his step-children: Mike and Carolyn Speakman; Bob and Serene Speakman; Marsha Cooley and Warren Park; Jim (Connie) Ahlstrom; Bonnie (Al) Hart; Sue (Tony) Punka; Shirley Dever and companion Rich; Donna Cutting; Willie (Paula) Cutting; Joy "Buzz Saw" (Lonnie) Burton; his daughter-in-law Cindy Neiberline; his sister Mary Blanton; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and his canine companion "Scooter." Ike was predeceased by his first wife, Helen; his son Roger Neiberline; his step-son Gene Cutting; brothers William Calvert and John Neiberline; and sisters Hazel Cutright; Helen Young; and Eva Durnell. Ike retired from the City of Chillicothe in 1986 where he worked as an equipment operator. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS, Post 4; American Legion, Post 757; VFW, Post 108; and the Eagles, Aerie 600. He enjoyed vegetable gardening. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 24, at the Haller Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm Friday at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gifts For Yanks, c/o American Legion, Post 757, 289 Cooks Hill Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
