J. Crabtree

John Samuel Crabtree, "Sam," 65, died unexpectedly at 2:37pm March 17, 2018, at Adena Regional Medical Center.   He was born September 18, 1952, in Portsmouth, OH, to the late Edison H. and Mary K. (Carthel) Crabtree. On May 27, 1984, he married the former Pamela A. Tackett, who preceded him in death on September 27, 2006.   Surviving are his sisters: Connie Denny-Drummond, Rebecca Drummond, both of Mesa, AZ; Christie Detillion, Piketon, OH; a brother Edison Jerald "Jerry" Crabtree, Tonto Basin, AZ; and 9 nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a nephew.   Sam was a graduate of Waverly High School, Class of 1970. He had worked at Sergeants Sales and Rentals and was a member of the American Legion, Post­­­­­­­­­ 62, and BPOE, Lodge 52.   At his request, cremation services will be entrusted to Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 7, at the American Legion, Post 62, 2nd Floor, 53 W. Main St., Chillicothe.
